据彭博社报道，鉴于希腊的财政状况更加恶化，将银行援助资金挪作他用的可能性增大。希腊要将原本计划用于强化银行资本的资金挪作他用，必须要获得欧元区19国财长的一致批准。
自2010年以来，国际债权人承诺向希腊提供的援助资金达2400亿欧元(2630亿美元)，其中500亿欧元被指定专用于希腊银行业。援助银行的基金中还剩有109亿欧元，存放在位于卢森堡的欧洲金融稳定机制(EFSF)。
西班牙Cadena Ser电台周二援引匿名欧洲官员的消息报道，欧元区或许会允许希腊动用未使用的银行援助基金中的90亿欧元，用于当前开支，因为希腊反紧缩的政府总理齐普拉斯寻求避免违约。Ser报道，这一举措可让希腊现有的援助计划持续到6月份之后的数月；作为回报，齐普拉斯必须接受债权人70%的条款。
彭博电话联系EFSF的发言人时，该发言人拒绝对Ser的报告做出评论。
