据彭博社报道，希腊说服以德国为首的、越来越持怀疑态度的债权人集团，使其相信希腊正在认真对待为避免债务违约而必须采取的紧缩预算政策。
在希腊援助会议破裂不到三周之际，希腊财长瓦鲁法克斯向债权人保证，希腊愿意作出让步，以获得2400亿欧元（2680亿美元）援助计划的最后一批资金。
荷兰财长Jeroen Dijsselbloem周一在布鲁塞尔主持欧元区财政部长会议后对记者表示：“我们的进展在加快。我们对一些重要问题进行了探讨，但仍需要时间化解剩余的分歧并达成一个综合性的协议。”
尚不清楚这种不冷不热的肯定态度是否会促使欧洲央行维持其对希腊银行业的全部紧急流动性援助额度。欧洲央行本周将审议对希腊银行业的融资安排，一些管理委员会成员呼吁增加希腊银行业所提供抵押品的折扣额。
希腊表示，周二将向国际货币基金组织偿付7.5亿欧元资金，从而化解又一个困难。两位希腊官员表示，周一已经下达了资金划拨指令。不过从现在到9月份，希腊还需要向IMF偿付更多资金，并偿付欧洲央行持有的债券，将迫使希腊千方百计筹措现金。
