在本日的澳联储利率决议中，澳洲联储把原定基本现金利率2.5%下调至2.25%，降幅达25个基点，结束18个月来的正常化货币政策，因央行试图刺激国内疲软的经济，同时维持对澳元的贬值压力。
早前市场预期澳联储将本次利率决议中执行降息，降息举措的部分目的在于抵消澳洲多种出口资源价格下跌的影响。大宗商品价格下滑不仅损及企业获利，也抑制了矿业投资，如贵金属矿业公司的投资份额不断下降，因国际现货黄金连续两年价格走低，导致澳洲关于黄金矿业增长业务减少，令黄金公司面临减产危机。
近期其他央行匆忙放宽政策，意味着澳洲央行如果希望制止澳元升值到没有竞争力的水平，就必须随之采取行动。这也让降息更加迫在眉睫。虽然澳联储旨在通过降息以打压澳元在汇市上形成的高息资产泡沫，同时推动澳大利亚国家的经济增长，但预计今年大部分时间内，澳洲核心通胀率将接近澳洲央行2-3%目标区间下方，因近段时间国际油价的大幅走软，且澳洲总体薪资增长水平为10年低点，因此通胀将呈现温和上升。
由于澳联储降息，澳元兑美元急挫100余点，为美元指数带来一定提振作用，而美元回调风险依旧较大，黄金上方面临1284美元/盎司的重要考验，日间在澳联储利率决议结束后，陷入短期窄幅盘整，随后继续获得低位买盘支撑，多空对战激烈，若上破1284美元/盎司并升至1285，上行空间将扩宽至1300美元/盎司，否则将维持现时的宽幅震荡行情。
