中国今年黄金购买量创新高

华尔街日报部落格10日报导，中国今年黄金购买数量可望创下历史新高。中国政府的外汇储备也可能在增持黄金。中国外汇存底居全球首位、达3.5兆美元，其中有1.3兆美元是以美国公债形式持有。上一次人民银行公布黄金存量是在2009年4月，当时数量报1,054公吨。
华尔街日报7月曾报导，被中国媒体称为「隐形人」的中国国家外汇管理局(SAFE)储备管理司投资长朱长虹在2010年进入外汇储备操盘团队后逐步降低美债持有比重，自当年6月的45%占比(约1.11兆美元)降至2012年6月的35%(约1.14兆美元)。另一方面，中国外汇储备投资美国企业债/美国股票比重自5%升至7%。整体而言，中国外汇储备投资美国金融资产的比重自2008年起呈现稳步走低态势、自接近70%的比重降至目前约50%的水平。
英国金融时报10日报导，中国的3.5兆美元外汇存底约有60%是以美元资产形式持有。中国总理李克强在与美国国务卿凯瑞(John Kerry)会谈时表示，中国高度关注美国的举债上限议题。
香港政府统计处10月8日公布，今年1-8月香港出口以及转口至大陆的黄金数量达到创新高的996.9公吨。
德国之声中文网10月2日引述德国《焦点》周刊指出，当中国这个未来的世界第一大经济体用黄金为其货币进行担保时，不少国家都将会放弃贬值风险增多的西方货币，转向这种新的安全货币。文章也强调，中国引进金本位制不会在一夜之间发生，且中国的金融基础设施也还不发达。
当人民币资产市场日益成熟茁壮、中国哪天若突然宣布黄金储备已暴增至数千吨水平时，美国人可能会后悔没有听共和党、国际货币基金组织(IMF)的话，早一点着手改革应得权益计划。
