罢工影响 印帕拉铂金公司获利减半

《Mining Weekly》报导，世界第二大铂金矿商印帕拉铂金公司（Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd., Implats）8月29日公布，截至六月底的上个财年获利减半，主要受到罢工以及铂金价格下跌的影响。该公司上个财年的营收年增9%至300亿南非币，除一次性项目的本业获利则是年减52%至每股3.3元南非币。该公司上个财年的精炼铂金产量年增9%至158万盎司，但销售的矿产铂金产量则是年减2%至121万盎司。此外，单位生产成本则是年增23%。
Implats执行长Terence Goodlace表示，铂金产业正面临极度艰困的时期，包括铂族金属价格下跌、生产力低迷、成本上扬以及劳资关系紧张等，均对整体生产环境构成严重挑战。该公司上个财年因罢工损失了15万盎司的铂金产量，而南非以及津巴布韦的生产成本则分别上涨了11.6%与20.3%。铂金市场去年约有50万盎司的供给缺口，主要因为最大生产国南非的产量减少，以及来自汽车部门的需求略微增加的影响。
全球第三大铂金矿商隆明公司（Lonmin Plc）南非铂金矿Marikana去年爆发罢工并导致34名矿工在8月16日与警方的严重冲突中丧生之后，南非的罢工潮蔓延逾两个月。汇丰银行（HSBC）资深分析师Jim Steel表示，除了罢工的因素之外，由于铂金价格的低迷，占全球近八成供应量的最大生产国南非，已经有相当数量的铂金矿生产不符合经济效益，这可能在未来导致铂金产量的减少。
