黄金迎来新一轮抛压，因投资者冀望全球经济复苏，且新冠疫苗方面有利好消息传来，同时美国有望推出进一步经济刺激，应会提振市场的风险偏好。
据计算及美国商品期货交易委员会(CFTC)上周五(12月11日)公布的数据，最近一周投机客持有的美元净空仓规模升至9月底来最高水准。而近期持续承压的美元本周将面临新的重大考验，美联储即将召开政策会议，决策料将宣布扩大购买较长期债券以控制收益率的计划。
美国联邦公开市场委员会(FOMC)和主席鲍威尔将面临棘手的任务，9月经济预测总结过于悲观，并将进行一些相当大的修正，在没有对量化宽松政策进行实际调整的情况下出台更明确的指引，将会让人有些失望，因为新的货币政策框架要求美联储强调其反应功能的变化，以实现比以往更高的通胀目标。
至少900万美国失业人员将在大约两周后失去失业救济，此前这些人正是靠失业救济度过疫情。另外延迟的租金也将开始到期，规模预估为700亿美元，可能覆盖1100万个家庭。失业率下降得更快，截至9月的经济增长也强于美联储官员今年早些时候的预期。
然而，就业增长最近已经放缓，而且疫情破纪录的激增已经引起了人们对更多企业即将倒闭的担忧。截至9月份，美国家庭预留的现金规模创纪录高位，大企业以外的破产数量下滑，信贷市场投资者说几乎看不到严重吃紧的迹象，而且即将到来的疫苗可能会迅速刺激经济发展。
尽管英国和欧盟在谈判中仍有分歧，但约翰逊还不想拂袖而去。英镑周一走势表明，投资者显然提升了对欧盟与英国之间达成贸易协议的信心。
但在双方取得新的进展之前，英镑汇率很可能保持稳定。而有一些分析师则警告称，英镑涨势恐难持续，因为虽然英国和欧盟一再努力弥合分歧，但仍有达不成协议、令贸易和商业陷入混乱的风险。
