9月11日晚，现货黄金价格小幅度下滑，由于欧洲央行和美国政府尚未公布进一步的经济刺激措施，市场对经济复苏有一定的担忧，同时由于全球股市的动荡，黄金作为避险产品更受投资者青睐。
纽约商品交易所12月交割的黄金期货价格下跌16.40美元，跌幅0.8%，受益每盎司1947.90美元。12月白银期货下跌43美分，跌幅1.6%，受益每盎司26.857美元。按照最活跃合约计算，本周黄金期货累计上涨0.7%，白银上涨0.5%。
欧洲央行行长拉加德周四未发出该行将扩大刺激的信号，美国国会参议院周四否决了共和党提出的抗疫援助议案。分析师称，“市场对欧洲央行有点失望，因之前预期我们能看到更多刺激举措。”
分析师指出，全球贸易的复苏使得黄金市场承压，因为这是全球经济增长的一个信号，也是地缘政治稳定和消费者情绪积极的信号。
分析师表示：“国债收益率极低甚至为负、美国冠状病毒感染病例持续增加、美元走软等因素使贵金属价格仍然得到支撑。除了这几个因素，美联储改变政策框架，允许通胀率上涨，同时将在较长时间内维持低利率政策，也会使金价受益。通胀上涨的压力将侵蚀美元的购买力，意味着美元贬值的同时黄金将保持其价值。”
