疫情在中国以外快速扩散加剧了人们对其全球经济影响的担忧，促使部分人押注美联储将被迫降息，以缓解疫情带来的打击。美国10年期国债收益率纽市盘中跌至历史新低的1.305%，增强了关于央行降息的讨论。
着疫情扩散到其他国家和地区，对增长造成的影响或将持续到4月，金价可能会升至每盎司1650-1700美元的水平。
以欧元计价的黄金和以英镑计价的黄金双双从周一触及的纪录高位回落。目前这个周期内，所有货币计金价都将创下新高。今年以来美元计金价已经上涨了近10%，如果再涨13%左右，就意味着突破2011年的历史顶部水平。黄金和美元在大部分时候处在负相关关系中，即黄金和美元此消彼长，但近期这一关系被打破，黄金和美元指数一同走高。在这种情况下，黄金的涨势更被看好。
