英国脱欧期限难以延长，但仍担心无协议脱欧

2月21日，英镑兑美元从低位开始反弹，原因在于美元出现下跌切英国公布的经济数据表现比较乐观，除了经济数据表现之外，英国的脱欧谈判仍是关键，大部分投资者认为英国脱欧过渡期不会延长。
英国与欧盟将于下月初启动围绕双方未来关系的谈判，但双方都十分坚持自身立场，而且距离过渡期结束还剩不到一年时间，因此已有人质疑是否来得及达成协议。
英国首相约翰逊已承诺不会延长过渡期到12月之后。2月17-20日受访的34名分析师中，有24对此表示认同。德国商业银行分析师Peter Dixon表示，英国政府不太可能同意延长过渡期，这是一条非常明显的红线。它可能会试着确保达成范围较窄的贸易协议，挑选最符合英国经济利益的领域。
根据英国2016年6月公投决定脱欧以来的所有调查，其中超过90%显示，欧盟与英国未来最有可能的贸易体制是达成自由贸易协议。其次是达不成协议、双方根据世界贸易组织 (WTO)规则展开贸易。可能性最低的结果是，英国仍为欧洲经济区(EEA)成员，这意味着英国要为欧盟预算付费，以保留进入单一市场的权利，但对政策没有发言权。
迄今为止，英国基本避开了在亚洲肆虐并威胁到全球经济增长的公共卫生危机。其他调查显示，此危机对亚洲和美国的影响将是短暂的。
英国2月Markit制造业PMI初值好于预期，英镑兑美元短线上涨。虽然服务业稍稍不及预期，但仍可以看出，英国经济依然强劲。市场研究机构IHS MARKIT表示，英国PMI与英国2020年初0.2%左右的GDP增速相符。
当前，脱欧问题才是影响汇价的重要因素。有分析师表示，英国脱欧的不确定性依然存在，英国央行似乎仍将在2020年降息，英镑料在未来几个月走软，由于英国脱欧的不确定性依然很高，重新燃起的乐观情绪不会持续太久，不能排除由于欧盟和英国未能在今年年底前达成永久贸易协议而导致的无协议脱欧。
