零售數據公佈，美指瘋漲黃金暴跌
美國商務部5月15日公佈數據顯示，美國4月核心零售銷售月率雖不及預期但好於前值，此外消費者支出出現了加速增長的趨勢，這或鞏固美聯儲既定政策路徑。數據公佈後，美指拉升40點至93.38，美國10年期國債收益率攀升至3.050%；歐元兌美元短線下挫近60點，黃金下挫近12美元至1294.46美元/盎司。
分析師指出，美國4月零售銷售溫和增長，因汽油價格上漲令可自由支配支出承壓，但消費者支出在第一季度大幅放緩後，出現了加速增長的趨勢。
美國能源情報署的數據顯示，4月份汽油價格上漲近0.17美元，至每加侖2.757美元，為2015年7月以來的最高價格；最近汽油價格的上漲，如果持續下去，可能會削弱降低所得稅對消費者支出的影響。
傢俱店的銷售額增長了0.8%，3月份增長了1.4%。上個月電子產品和家用電器的銷售收入增長了0.1%，而建築材料商店的銷售額增長了0.4%；服裝商店的收入增長了1.4%，這是自2017年3月以來的最大增幅，線上零售商的銷售額增長了0.6%。
美國4月零售銷售溫和增長，4月消費者支出在第一季度大幅放緩後，出現了加速增長的趨勢，表明美國經濟增長動能強勁，且此前公佈的美國CPI數據也顯示通脹在美聯儲既定目標附近，這或進一步鞏固美聯儲6月加息的決心，而若後續經濟數據一如預期向好則還可能強化美聯儲年內加息四次的預期。

美元可能需要對美聯儲的緊縮預期和歐洲央行的貨幣政策正常化計畫進行強硬的重新調整。然而，最新的美國平均時薪和4月份核心CPI月率數據——均低於趨勢和共識的0.1%，且零售銷售溫和增長。這表明美聯儲可能堅持一條漸進的道路。
此外，北京時間今晚22點，美國參議院金融委員會將就提名克拉裏達擔任美聯儲副主席和理事、以及提名鮑曼擔任美聯儲理事舉行聽證會。如果確認，他們將獲得對當前政策決定的投票權，目前克拉裏達政策立場偏鷹派。
分析師表示，儘管美聯儲表示將逐步收緊貨幣政策，但由於美國經濟增長良好，美聯儲需要加快加息步伐。隨著今年加息次數預期上升，美聯儲可能變得更為激進。
