韩国青瓦台国家安保室长郑义溶周四(3月8日)称，两国领导人可能在5月前会面，金正恩已承诺避免进行更多核试验及导弹试射活动。此前郑义溶向白宫官员介绍了朝韩会谈情况。
美国总统特朗普表示，正在准备与朝鲜领导人金正的会面。这将是双方首次面对面，可能成为朝核危机取得重大突破的标志。

分析师表示：“金正恩可能坐上谈判桌，我们正见到市场对此的反应，就是这刺激风险交易，同时让避险资产面临压力。”
分析师报告中写道：“我们温和看空黄金价格，预计收益率上升的环境构成阻力，但我们认为美国2018年升息的影响已经被市场消化，而上市交易基金(ETF)持仓近来非常稳定，预计金价六个月后来到1275美元。”
投资者等候周五稍晚将公布的美国就业报告，包括非农就业数据和平均时薪。上述香港交易员补充道：“我认为2月份的美国非农报告对黄金可能略微偏空，数据表现预计向好。”
