特朗普怒斥日本向美国倾销汽车

特朗普表示，“日本人民正在蓬勃发展，日本城市充满活力，日本已经建成了世界上最强大的经济体之一，我不知道它有没有我们美国好，我想是没有的…我们会努力保持第一的，但你们可以当第二名”。
特朗普在访问日本期间抱怨两国贸易不平衡。根据路透社的报道，特朗普说：“美国多年来在日本遭受了巨大的贸易逆差”。美国与日本的贸易逆差达690亿美元。
特朗普总统在亚洲之行的第二日就在东京推动更多的“互惠”贸易。根据Politico的说法，特朗普在与企业高管会面时建议日本的汽车制造商“试着在美国建造汽车，而不是把它们运到美国”。但问题是：他们已经这么做很多年了。
日本汽车制造商协会（Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association）称，美国销售的日本品牌汽车中约有75％是在北美建造的。截至2015年，日本汽车制造商在美国至少有26个制造工厂和36个研发设施。
根据JAMA的数据，日本在美制造的汽车制造商包括丰田，本田，日产和三菱，2015年日本的汽车公司在美国生产了390万辆汽车。
特朗普赞扬日本购买美国的军事装备，并称那是“世界上最好的军事装备”，但他补充说，“日本向美国出售了数百万辆汽车，而日本几乎没有美国汽车。”
特朗普补充说：“我们希望自由和互惠贸易，但现在双方贸易既不是自由的，也不是互惠的，我知道最终会实现自由和互惠贸易。现在我们已经开始了这一进程，我相信这一进程将是快速并且友好的。”
