12加息，明年加息多次？
美国波士顿联储主席罗森格伦表示，美联储可能需要在12月加息，然后在明年加息三至四次，前提是美国失业率持续下滑且通胀上升，他表示，为了让通胀率稳定在2%，利率可能要高于良好经济下料将有的水准。
罗森格伦在专访中表示，如果通胀率达到美联储的目标，同时失业率从目前的16年低位4.2%降至低于4%，那么可能是经济或将过热的讯号。
罗森格伦表示，为了让通胀率稳定在2%，可能必须要超出目标，利率要高于良好经济下料将有的水准。9月时，美联储官员估计所谓的中性利率将在2.8%。这番言论表明罗森格伦比起其多数同僚稍微偏向鹰派。他今年对政策没有投票权。
不过，罗森格伦的观点落后于许多货币政策规则所暗示的更快速加息路径，包括史丹佛大学教授泰勒(John Taylor)提出的“泰勒规则”。
货币政策规则根据通胀水平和经济状况，明确指出利率应该位于什么水准，央行官员通常利用这些规则来引导其利率决定。
罗森格伦在周六(10月14日)为期两天的货币政策规则会议结束时接受了采访。泰勒在此次会议上做了正式演讲。泰勒是美国总统特朗普考虑接替耶伦出任美联储主席的人选之一。他长期以来一直宣称，美联储将利率维持在过低水准太长时间，有可能带来过大的通胀压力。
泰勒还赞成美国国会正在考虑的立法举措，要求美联储在决定政策时遵循一套货币政策规则，比方说他所主张的相关规定。不少联储官员对此表示反对，其中也包括耶伦和罗森格伦，后者称就货币政策规定立法将会“适得其反”。
然而，在被问到如果下一任美联储主席希望遵循的一项规则可能令更快加息成为法律，他对此有何看法时，罗森格伦似乎并不在意。
他希望他们足够灵活与务实，如果这项规定没有取得很好的效果，他们会作出调整。例如，泰勒在其文章中表现的态度似乎相当有弹性：他谈到了多项不同的规则，谈到将规定付诸实施的不同方式。
