美联储二号人物：美国经济正在接近其双重目标
美联储(FED)副主席费希尔(Stanley Fischer)周一(11月21日)在为纽约举行发表书面讲话称，经济已回到美联储的就业和通胀目标附近，这表明经济受到的周期性拖累已经大大减轻。
费希尔表示，“美国经济表现相当不错，就业增长一直强劲。同时，在经历第一季度的乏力增长后，目前GDP已加速，通胀正在向着2%的目标上升。”
不过，他强调当前经济的复苏尚不令人满意，并称，“有迹象显示均衡利率已下降，这使经济更容易受到冲击、并增加金融稳定面临的威胁。但迄今为止我们还没有看到低利率导致美国金融系统的金融脆弱性显著加大的证据。”
费希尔还指出，经济方面的不安反映出许多更长期的挑战，这些挑战将需要一套与解决短期周期性增长不足问题所不同的政策工具。提升生产率的财政政策可以提升经济潜力，解决一些更长期的挑战。需求疲软是生产率增速减缓的原因之一。
在随后接受观众和主持人提问时，费希尔称，美联储将持续重点关注通胀，并将通胀预期纳入考虑。他还希望人们能认识到贸易战的危险之处，并重申美联储的独立性，央行不卷入政治斗争。
在被问及美联储受到的政治攻击时，他回答道，“我们必须做好本职工作。至于财政政策对物价稳定和充分就业的影响，我们需要加以考虑。有理由期待经济增速会小幅加快。”
