美国5月份零售额表现强劲。上周首次申请失业救济人数保持在低位，仅略高于预期。RBC Capital Markets高级外汇策略师Elsa Lignos称，但在美国公布总体良好的数据后，美元未能大幅上涨，这反映出投资者仍对美联储启动加息的时间没有把握。
美国商务部周四公布，经季节因素调整后，5月零售商和餐馆零售额环比增长1.2%，至4,449亿美元。经济学家给出的预期为增长1.3%。瑞穗银行(Mizuho Bank)外汇策略师Sireen Harajli称，这份零售额数据至少为这样一种观点提供了支持，即美国经济将在第二季度以及下半年开始复苏。
美国劳工部周四公布，经季节性因素调整后，截至6月6日当周首次申请失业救济人数增加2,000人，至27.9万人，但仍处于历史低位。此前经济学家给出的预期为27.5万人。
美联储的决策委员会将于6月17日召开为期两天的议息会议，就经济形势和利率进行讨论，并将给出经济增长、通胀和联邦基金利率预期。
