加拿大蒙特利尔银行(BMO)大宗商品分析师Jessica Fund表示，在整个亚洲地区黄金需求仍然保持稳定之际，中国投资者已经变得益发久经世故，他们正在等待购买黄金的恰当时机。
该分析师曾于6月初造访中国并针对客户和投资者做研究调查，称其最大的感慨和惊讶莫过于，亚洲投资者是多么地密切留意美联储(FED)。
早在美国联邦公开市场委员会(FOMC)尚未完全结束量化宽松(QE)政策的2014年，市场就持续预计美联储会开始加息——目前的普遍预期是在9月份采取行动，进而导致黄金价格持续走软。即便是在黄金价格处于最近一段时期以来底部附近的情况下，中国投资者一直都不愿意介入黄金市场。
该分析师认为，对中国投资者而言，当前的黄金价格非常重要，他们正在等待入场做多的恰当时机，这表明他们正变得更加复杂化，而不是一见到黄金价格上涨就像苍蝇一样盲目跟风；投资者曾在2013年被黄金市场砸伤，时至今日恐怕仍然记忆犹新，他们并不希望重蹈覆辙。
该分析师指出，要想见到中国黄金投资者再度蜂拥而至，恐怕黄金价格还得进一步大幅下跌，他们并不会因为黄金价格下跌区区25.00美元/盎司而表现得蠢蠢欲动，而是希望见到更大幅度的下跌。
虽然中国的黄金需求已经在最近数年里下滑，但上述分析师认为从更长周期的历史视角来审视这个问题很重要。
上述分析师就此解释称，相比2012年，中国2013年的实物黄金需求非常旺盛，需求仍然非常强劲，相信这样的情况将会延续下去，中国的财富正日复一日地增加，而黄金仍然被视作颇具价值的资产，因此仍然看好中国的黄金需求前景，称中国未来数年的黄金需求仍然会非常强劲，因为国内投资者的选择余地非常有限，在楼市和股市变得炙手可热的情况下尤其如此：不但消费者收入提高有望支持投资需求，珠宝类需求也有望升温，这也会利好黄金市场。
