据外媒报道，美国联邦储备委员会理事布雷纳德昨日表示，在全球其它地区经济改善之前，美联储也许不可能升息。这是迄今最直截了当的表态，承认全球市场疲弱将会如何束缚美联储的手脚。
她表示，尽管其他方面缺乏令人信服的证据，但第一季美国国内生产总值(GDP)数据糟糕，或许暗示经济放缓更为持久，联储在调升利率前需要进入一个“等待观望的”阶段。报道称，她的言论让本来已经十分渺茫的6月升息变得更无可能，也许标志原本看似肯定会在今秋做出的升息决定更加遥遥无期。
“事实证明，经济复苏的基本动能相对易受一系列不利因素的影响，”布雷纳德表示。她认为希腊违约和欧洲等问题“可能会持续一段时间”，“等待观望一下，掌握更多数据帮助厘清经济成长的基本动能情况，这样做是有价值的。”
布雷纳德指出，鉴于强势美元、低油价对美国能源业投资的冲击，以及其他因素，升息的时机可能还很远。
