近期走势顺风顺水的欧元周一出现“高台跳水”，被一些市场人士成为“欧元定时炸弹”的希腊问题再度引爆欧元跌势。据一份泄露的文件显示，希腊很可能在6月5日出现违约；此外，希腊总理和财长继续发表强硬言论，坚称不会在其“红线”上让步，并称相比于无法支付养老金，宁愿选择对IMF债务违约。而希腊问题引发的避险情绪一度提振金价突破1230关口上方。
英国Channel 4上周六报导称，国际货币基金组织(IMF)流出的一份备忘录警告称，如果不与外国债权人达成实施改革换取资金的协议，希腊将难以在6月5日支付欠IMF的款项。
希腊总理齐普拉斯(AlexisTsipras)本月稍早警告债权人称，该国将难以在5月12日支付欠IMF的款项，不过该国最终动用IMF紧急账户的资金还了款。数月以来，希腊政府一直在从不同行政管理部门筹借资金以满足支出需要，但其选项越来越少。

尽管希腊局势危急，但该国政府却表示在与IMF和欧元区伙伴国的谈判中将不会放弃“红线”。这些红线包括债务重整、降低基本预算盈余目标，以及誓言不会进一步削减退休金或薪资。
希腊新政府1月份上台，承诺将结束多年的撙节政策。但德国央行称，希腊政府需要兑现过去的改革承诺，该央行称：“如果希腊不做出实质改革，将难以达成可持续性的解决方案。”
