随着本周金价重挫至逾5年来的最低水平，低廉的金价也掀起了美国金币的购买热潮。美国铸币厂的数据也显示，7月以来的金币销量已经创下两年多以来单月最高。
目前距离7月结束尚有一周多时间，而本月至今美国铸币局美国鹰牌金币的销量已经超过11万盎司，为2013年4月以来最高单月水平；因随着本周金价历史性的急跌，金价延续十年之久的涨势戛然而止，被压抑已久的需求由此迸发。
美国铸币厂数据显示，7月至今的金币销量高于6月76000盎司的销售规模，而且是5月所售21500盎司的五倍还多。
Upstate Coins负责人David Cooper称，最近两天是他自2013年春季以来最忙的时候。他表示，“当前金价跌至5年低位后，不少投资者都认为这是一个不错的抄底价位。6月我的黄金销量并没什么增长，但本周却大幅飙升。”
Cooper还称。“目前金银产品已积累了很多延迟交货的订单，因为精炼厂的产量无法跟上短时间内爆发的需求。”
