美国原油期货周三(3月18日)亚市盘初续跌逾2%，并刷新42.44美元/桶的6年低位，因稍早API数据显示美国上周原油库存再度暴增，加剧供应过剩的担忧。此外，隔夜公布的美国经济数据均不佳，拖累需求预期，而伊朗方面也表示即便有制裁也要增加原油产量。
美国石油学会(API)周二(3月17日)晚间公布的数据显示，继此前下降一周后，美国3月13日当周原油库存再度增加1050万桶；汽油库存减少58.3万桶；精炼油库存减少25.2万桶。
伊朗总统鲁哈尼(Hassan Rouhani)周二(3月17日)表示，即使有西方制裁，伊朗也会继续增加天然气产量。此前伊朗石油部长称，伊朗政府已做准备，如果西方撤销制裁，伊朗的每日石油出口量“可能几个月内增加100万桶”。
伊朗与美国从昨日起恢复谈判，试图缩小意见分歧，伊朗核问题达成协议的希望增加。市场预计这有利于伊朗扩大原油出口，会打压油价。而昨日OPEC公布的今年全球原油需求增长预期不变。
上周国际能源署(IEA)发布报告称，上月伊朗每日石油运输量为120万桶。报告认为，美国开工的石油钻井平台急剧减少是近期油价反弹的关键因素，但美国全国产油未现减慢迹象，国内原油库存量创新高，这带来油价下行压力。
利比亚原油产出不断上升，且伊朗寄望，一旦达成核协议，西方国家将撤销制裁，从而令该国石油出口增加，这加重油市的压力。
