汇丰银行周一在报告中称，今年9月为止，全球14大主要黄金ETF持仓量累计减少42.2万盎司。截至9月4日，这14大主要黄金ETF的持仓量共计5510万盎司，较8月底的5550万盎司下滑。
汇丰银行表示，相比去年的大规模清算，今年为止黄金ETF持仓流动总体稳定，但近期却再次出现外流趋势，暗示投资者正将资金从黄金ETF中撤出，以投资风险资产。
该行指出，黄金ETF持仓流出似乎也很好地证明最近美股标普500指数有史以来首次突破2000点，即资金从黄金ETF中转入股市。以这样的发展来看，如果未来美股继续走高，那么黄金ETF持仓外流情况可能进一步恶化，从而令金价承压。
另外，据花旗研究机构称，8月全球黄金ETF流出的20吨将此前7月流入的差不多15吨抵消殆尽。
上周，全球黄金ETF的价值跌破700亿美元，这是今年6月中旬以来的第一次，总持有量为1713吨，为第三季度以来最低水平。此外，花旗称，在此前几个交易日中，金价的波动性有所减弱。
“即使有欧洲央行宣布资产购买计划，还有疲软的美国非农数据，黄金投资者们的动作也并不大。有偏鹰派的美联储、偏鸽派的欧洲央行和日本央行，在这样的情况下，看起来这些因素早已经体现在了金价中，而非2013年美联储刚要开始缩减那样。”花旗认为，这抑制了黄金市场的波动性。
