全球第二大储量的金矿因事故停产

全球知名黄金矿企Gold Fields Ltd近日发布声明称，由于过去10天旗下位于南非的South Deep金矿发生事故，并已造成两名员工死亡，现已接到南非矿产资源部(Department of Mineral Resources)暂停该金矿开采的命令。而这也成为24年来South Deep金矿遭遇的最大打击，该金矿拥有全球第二大的黄金储量。
该公司表示，将South Deep金矿进行为期4个月的安全监察，这将令该金矿损失6.43万盎司的黄金产量，差不多是2013年总产量的16%。
Gold Fields首席执行官Nick Holland称，“为公司旗下所有矿山提供一个安全的工作环境是我们当前的首要任务，在亲自视察了South Deep金矿的事故现场后，公司已与该矿山的管理团队进行磋商，最终决定停止生产，并立即开始实施补救措施。”
该公司指出，此次事故暂时不会对公司长期的产量目标造成影响。此前Gold Fields曾预计到2017年，黄金年产量将达到65-70万盎司。
