2013至14财年印度走私黄金同比涨五倍

2013至2014财年是印度近年历史上走私黄金最猖獗的一年，被走私到印度国内的黄金量比2012至2013财年增加了五倍，从价值10亿卢比涨至价值56.5亿卢比(约9340万美元)。
一些分析认为，2013至2014财年，真正被走私的黄金可能是这一统计数字的10倍，被查获的走私只占全部走私的1到2%。就在最近，印度财政部长Chidambaram称每月估计黄金走私量在3000公斤左右。这样的话，以目前的金价计算，上个财年被走私进的黄金价值有900亿卢比。
据世界黄金协会(WGC)估计，上一财年被走私进印度的黄金在200吨左右，大约价值6000亿卢比。不过印度官方认为这一估计是不准确的。
去年为控制经常账户赤字(CAD)，并且支撑卢比，印度采取了一系列措施限制黄金进口，包括将进口关税上调到10%并且规定进口黄金中的20%必须用于出口。黄金自2009年起占印度CAD的差不多30%，这些措施将印度CAD从2012至2013财年的880亿美元下降到2013至2014财年的320亿美元。
