金价年内大跌22% 巴瑞克公司迫停工程

全球最大金矿商加拿大巴瑞克黄金公司(Barrick Gold Corporation)受不了金价在今(2013)年大跌22%、债务日益沉重的压力，最近被迫宣布了规模高达30亿美元的现金增资案、并暂停南美洲Pascua Lama矿场的兴建工程。受到这些消息影响，巴瑞克黄金在纽约证交所挂牌的股票上周五(11月1日)重挫7.12%，收18.01美元，创10月16日以来收盘新低；年初迄今跌幅达48.56%。巴瑞克黄金2011年、2012年的股价跌幅分别达14.91%、22.63%。
巴瑞克黄金10月31日宣布，将以每股18.35美元的代价发行1.635亿股普通股票，募集金额将达30亿美元，所得将用来改善资产负债表以及长期流动性状况，其中26亿美元拟购回即将到期的自家公司债。除此之外，巴瑞克黄金还决定暂停Pascua Lama矿场的兴建计划，这座矿场位于阿根廷与智利边境、总值85亿美元。
彭博社1日报导，Montrusco Bolton Investment Inc.经理人John Goldsmith表示，巴瑞克黄金大幅稀释股权的动作，似乎意味着董事会对原物料价格变得较为悲观。根据彭博社统计，上述现金增资案规模是加拿大有史以来第二高，仅次于巴瑞克黄金在2009年9月进行的40.3亿美元募资案(当时的每股发行价格为36.95美元)。
Pascua-Lama矿场的兴建工程目前早已因为当地居民担忧水源遭到污染而部份停摆。巴瑞克黄金表示，除了必要的环保工程外，该矿厂的所有兴建活动都会全面暂停。巴瑞克黄金执行长Jamie Sokalsky 31日在电话会议上指出，Pascua-Lama矿场重启与否要看兴建成本、金价以及各项法规的发展而定，暂停兴建可让公司明(2014)年支出减少最多10亿美元。此外，巴瑞克黄金还计划裁员1,850人、执行其他重整方案，希望能额外省下5亿美元的年度开支。
