奥巴马厌倦删减预算 呼吁投资教育

美国国会本周将重启预算协商，美国总统奥巴马25日呼吁，国会应挹注更多经费在教育和相关计划，以促进经济成长。
彭博社和美联社报导，奥巴马在纽约一所中学演说表示，10月份政府停摆了16天，显示华府优先级错误；他批评部份人士碰上联邦预算，过度执着大砍经费，认为无需在成长和财政责任中作出选择，两者皆可达成。
奥巴马强调，他厌倦了删减预算一再老调重弹，共和党人让政府关门，浪费数十亿美元，却不认为美国人能负担高质量的教育制度。
问题是美国真的有空间继续借钱吗？美国财政部数据显示，拜国会调高举债上限(注：2014年2月7日以前可无限量举债)之赐，截至2013年10月17日为止美国公债余额帐上立即暴增3,300亿美元至17.08兆美元、创历史新高！美国总统奥巴马(Barack Obama)自2009年1月20日宣誓就职以来，美国公债余额总计增加6.45兆美元、增幅达60.7%。
美国共和党籍参议员Jeff Sessions透过参议院官网指出，美国人均负债金额已达53,378美元、远高于意大利(41,645美元)、希腊(39,384美元)、法国(37,104美元)、西班牙(26,637美元)、葡萄牙(23,857美元)；预估到2016年美国联邦债务余额将攀升至创纪录的20.3兆美元。
