新兴市场最近几周一直受到美联储下个月将削减其每月850亿美元债券购买计划的影响。包括印度卢布、印度尼西亚盾、泰铢等再内新兴市场货币遭受严重的打击，其中一些的利率甚至创历年最低。印度尼西亚中央银行将在周三将举行一次会议，这一出乎意料的举动，被普遍认为是其试图提高利率来捍卫快速下跌的卢布，后者已经达到自2009年4月以来的最低点，其隐含波动也已进入最高点。
印度卢比创下纪录低点，是自印度下议院批准200亿美元为穷人提供食物的救助计划后，18年来最大的日跌幅纪录。泰铢收于32.15元，达到近3年来的最低水平。
黄金方面，伦敦金价格经过周二的1.4%的涨幅后，周三小幅上涨0.1%，超过三个月新高。
