議息會議前夕，金價大幅走高
昨日金價於1980附近大幅向上飆升，一舉突破2000和2010兩道關鍵壓力關口，最高一度上探至2020下方，雖然後市價格有所回落但截至目前為止整體仍在2010上方進行交投。晚間將公佈備受市場關注的美聯儲利率決議，因此白天時間內交投料將會保持平淡。另外，晚間還需留意美聯儲主席鮑威爾的講話。
市場預期美聯儲繼續加息
美國主要股指週二均下跌超過1%，區域性銀行股因對金融體系的擔憂重燃而大跌，同時投資者試圖衡量美聯儲可能還需要在多長時間內繼續加息。預計美聯儲將於週三宣佈加息25個基點，投資者急切關注聯儲是否會發出任何信號，暗示這是否是當前週期的最後一次加息，或者如果通脹居高不下，是否有可能進一步加息。
美國財政部長耶倫週一表示，如果不提高聯邦債務上限，現在預計只能履行美國政府的所有支付義務到6月1日。標普500指數能源板塊急挫4.3%，在所有主要板塊中跌幅最大，緊隨其後的是金融板塊，下跌2.3%。美國區域性銀行延續週一的跌勢。週一第一共和銀行被接管並拍賣，其大部分資產被摩根大通收購，聯邦存款保險公司(FDIC)促成了這筆交易。
另有兩家美國區域性銀行在3月倒閉。LPL Financial首席全球策略師Quincy Krosby 表示：“有人擔心這還沒有結束，利率將(繼續)上升，這可能會成為更多問題的催化劑。”她補充稱，“關於商業地產的問題的討論越來越多”，這是一個與區域行銀行相關的領域。更高的借貸成本往往會打擊消費者和企業。
美聯儲主席或發表中性指引
美聯儲將於5月2日至3日召開政策會議，外界普遍預計將繼續加息25個基點。不過，由於借貸成本上升和信貸收緊增加了今年經濟衰退的風險，經濟活動仍然低迷。美聯儲主席鮑威爾很可能對利率前景發表中性指引。
儘管美聯儲採取了旨在通過減緩經濟來抑制高通脹的舉措，但就業市場仍保持了一定的韌性，價格上漲顯示出持久力。公司繼續以穩健的速度招聘，工資在年初繼續快速攀升。雖然通脹一直在放緩，但它越來越受到服務價格上漲的推動，而服務價格上漲幾乎沒有降溫的跡象——這可能使價格上漲難以完全回到美聯儲的2%目標。
富國銀行駐北卡羅來納州夏洛特的高級經濟學家蒂姆·昆蘭說：“……支付價格指數表明，來自商品的通貨緊縮衝動仍然緩慢得令人沮喪，這可能會使美聯儲抗通脹努力變得複雜化。”
