美債收益持續走高，金價跌穿關口

3月8日，現貨黃金出現較大跌幅，跌破1680關口，由於美元指數和美債收益率的持續上漲，不少投資者都拋售了目前收益率比較低的黃金投資，轉而選擇美元投資。而資金的流失也讓黃金出現進一步下跌。
美國參議院週六通過了總統拜登的1.9萬億美元新冠疫情紓困計畫；但該消息未能支撐金價。
分析師還表示，美聯儲主席鮑威爾上周未能解決近期美國國債收益率飆升的問題，進一步令金價承壓。
在10年期和30年期美債收益率達到一年多以來最高水準之後，可能進一步推動收益率上漲的催化劑包括定於週三公佈的2月消費者價格數據以及從週二開始的一系列美國國債的發行。正是2月25日進行的七年期國債發行結果不佳，引發了債市的最新一輪下跌。
隨著根據通脹保值美債收益率計算的市場通脹預期接近2014年以來未見之水準，2月消費者物價指數若高於預期可能會支持那些認為名義債券收益率將需要走高的觀點。當日晚些時候的10年期國債發行或者隔天的30年期發行如果需求疲弱，則將表明儘管發行規模增加已經暫停，但國債供應仍然是一個問題。
美國國債收益率的急劇波動反映了與疫苗推出和財政刺激措施相關的美國經濟改善預期。許多人表示這波走勢還沒有結束，並預期10年期國債收益率（週一徘徊在1.60%左右）將達到2%，當然這種情形也存在風險。收益率走高所體現的更為收緊的金融狀況會引發股市下跌。與此同時，美聯儲官員在3月16日至17日政策會議之前正處於自設的緘默期。
10年期美債收益率將在年底前達到2%，更快觸及的可能性肯定存在。由於美國經濟的重新開放和財政政策令人吃驚，一切似乎都預示了速度更快和幅度更大的重新定價。Ladha表示，收益率進一步走高可能由中期債券引領，反映出人們對美聯儲提早開始加息的預期升溫，並會使5年/30年收益率曲線趨平。
交易員正在越來越多做空美國國債期貨。儘管有時國債發行會被用來作為空頭回補的機會，但市場波動可能會抑制這樣做的意願–在交易商的資產負債表已經充斥著國債的情況下，可能導致發行結果疲軟。對於銀行而言，疫情期間監管豁免在本月底到期的不確定性也可能對國債發行構成挑戰。
