市場押注刺激措施，美元持續刷新新低

12月30日，美元持續下跌至兩年多的最低水準，由於美元走弱提振了市場對黃金這一替代資產的需求，加上投資者對疫情所造成的經濟影響有較大的擔心，也激發了投資者對黃金的避險買盤。
週三增加財政援助的前景將美元推至2018年4月以來最低水準，市場流動性稀薄，交易員在年底軋平匯市倉位。加拿大蒙特利爾銀行資本市場金屬衍生品交易員Tai Wong稱，美元持續走軟幫助黃金穩固漲勢，美國兩黨在紓困案方面的爭論以及佐治亞州參議員選舉令一些投資者暫時按兵不動。
美國參議院多數黨（共和黨）領袖麥康奈爾稱，參議院不會“受脅迫”而增加救助規模，美國眾議院2000美元支票發放的法案不可能在參議院迅速獲得通過。不過分析師表示，這只是推遲了不可避免將要發生的事情，拜登政府即將上臺，你會預期我們將會看到祭出更多刺激舉措的進一步嘗試。
未來幾周對於黃金市場重新獲得上行動力至關重要。傳統上，一月份是黃金季節性需求疲軟之前的最後一段狂歡時間。在過去的十年中，現貨黃金有8年在一月份上漲，只有兩年的一月份下跌。這與二、三月份形成鮮明對比，因為在二三月份黃金更多的是下跌。這種季節性走勢變化並非沒有道理，從11月中旬的排燈節，到耶誕節，再到2月中旬的農曆新年，首先在印度，然後在西方，然後在第一大黃金消費國中國，黃金珠寶需求都會大增。
儘管實物黃金市場很少決定價格走勢，但是當金融避險需求減弱時，實物市場可以給價格帶來重要的支撐。歷史表明，黃金在第一季度的後半段很容易遭受嚴重拋售，這或許是受到了ETF拋盤的帶動。
