10月8日,金價上漲後出現明顯回落,由於美國總統大選充滿不確定性,同時市場認為財政刺激措施將帶動通脹,讓投資者對較高風險的資產有較大的興趣,但美國大選前達成財政刺激方案的可能性較低,金價反彈有限。
華爾街主要股指觸及一個月高位,限制了金價的上漲,此前特朗普的講話提高了人們對出臺新一輪財政刺激措施的希望,儘管勞動力市場的復蘇難以獲得動能。
美國新一輪財政刺激協議談判依舊沒有任何進展,這令金價反彈乏力。美國參議院多數黨領袖米奇·麥康奈爾表示,臨近11月大選使得達成經濟刺激協議“具有挑戰性”。經濟形勢艱難,需要有針對性的援助,但達成一攬子計畫協議的時間“不確定”。眾議院議長堅持難以接受的金額,希望我們很快找到前進的方法。當被問及總統特朗普對經濟刺激方案談判的影響時,麥康奈爾說,有時候跟進討論“令人困惑”。
美國眾議院議長佩洛西周四表示,仍然對達成一攬子刺激方案抱有希望。如果不就更廣泛的經濟刺激方案達成協議,不可能就航空或其他任何一個行業單獨制定紓困措施。佩洛西在國會新聞發佈會上的講話表明,即便有跡象顯示得不到進一步支持的經濟復蘇可能會減弱,圍繞刺激計畫的僵局也不可能馬上得到化解。
缺乏新一輪刺激後的低通脹壓力目前施壓於黃金。美國大選的因素開始被計入金價,並且市場還在關注著英國退歐、貿易問題等地緣政治風險;黃金市場更多的波動以及美國大選辯論並沒有影響到市場對年底金價回到2000美元,白銀回到30美元/盎司水準的預期。
市場對缺乏額外刺激的擔憂影響了黃金的表現。這令市場對美國經濟失去動能有所擔憂;不過美國大選之後,新一輪的刺激將不可避免地出現,對黃金是利好的。儘管美國兩黨有分歧,但都會通過大規模的財政刺激,也就會推高金價。
