外媒稱，最新民意調查顯示，美國總統候選人、前副總統拜登對特朗普的支持率優勢大幅提升。據報導，美國昆尼皮亞克大學當地時間週三公佈的一項最新全國民調顯示，前副總統拜登對特朗普的領先優勢擴大到了15個百分點。拜登以52%的支持率領先於特朗普的37%，這是拜登迄今為止在該項民調中獲得的最大領先優勢。
目前最有可能出現的情況是美元貶值，新冠病毒危機期間，美國的貨幣政策比其他經合組織國家更具擴張性，歐元區現在打算利用其儲蓄盈餘為歐元區的投資提供資金，歐洲投資基金借入這些盈餘，而不是將其借給世界其他國家，特別是美國。
如果拜登當選美國總統，他將實施的新經濟政策(增加對資本利得、公司收益和財富的稅收，聯邦最低工資翻倍至每小時15美元，以及對石油和天然氣生產的限制等)，可能會打消非居民購買美國股票的念頭。當資本從新興國家流出時，就像新冠病毒危機開始時那樣，美元受到支撐，這一點從美元對新興貨幣的升值也可以看出，但自2020年5月中旬以來，這些資本外流已經停止，新興貨幣再次升值，對美元兌歐元來說是不利的。
未來幾個月美國零售銷售前景可能不會那麼光明，雖然5月和6月零售銷售數據受益於低基數效應，同時美國國許多地區封鎖措施逐漸減少，但7月風向卻不一樣；大幅遏制支出所帶來的輕鬆收益已經實現，新增新冠病毒病例和新冠病毒檢測陽性率上升都表明，許多州可能會停止放鬆封鎖措施，甚至這一形勢可能出現反轉。
如果新冠疫情不出現反彈，那麼零售業將有望完全恢復。消費支出前景方面仍存在兩個主要利好因素：首先家庭在隔離期間大幅增加了儲蓄，可以在下半年推動支出；其次服務需求仍然存在，自封鎖政策實施以來，這一直是主要預期，封鎖持續的時間越長，消費者支出的願望就越大。
