6月25日，美國公佈了一系列市場重點關注地經濟資料，當中美國一季度GDP資料符合市場預期，但是耐用品訂單初值超於預期，加上其他資料好壞參半，資料公佈後，現貨黃金小幅上漲。
具體資料顯示，美國第一季度實際GDP年化季率終值實際公佈-5%，預期-5%，前值-5%。
美國商務部稱，第一季度GDP的下降反映了各州政府對新冠肺炎蔓延的應對措施，3月份政府發佈了“居家隔離”命令。這導致了需求的迅速變化，企業和學校轉向遠端工作或取消了業務，消費者取消、限制或調整了他們的支出。疫情危機的全部經濟影響無法在2020年第一季度的GDP資料中量化，因為這些影響通常都包含在原始資料中，無法單獨確定
美聯儲表示將繼續把基準利率控制在接近于零的水準，美聯儲主席對此指出，美國今年GDP將萎縮6.5%，失業率也會持續保持在較高的水準。美聯儲的此番表態與美國總統特朗普有關美國經濟將經歷V型反彈的預測截然不同，美國經濟的復蘇之路將是十分漫長而艱難。
與鮑威爾的謹慎言論相比，特朗普有關美國經濟的看法不得不說是“極為樂觀”。特朗普以股市上漲和5月份的就業報告為例，聲稱美國經濟已經”恢復”。特朗普形容稱，美國經濟復蘇的勢頭“比V型反彈更強勁”，升勢將“猶如火箭飛船”一飛沖天。
經濟合作與發展組織（OECD）則指出，世界經濟正面臨著一個世紀以來最嚴重的衰退，經合組織首席經濟學家布恩認為，世界各國將需要採取非常規政策來恢復經濟。
美國截至6月20日當周初請失業金人數實際公佈148萬人，預期132萬人，前值150.8萬人。美國至6月20日當周初請失業金人數連續第12周回落。
美國勞工部稱，上周美國首次申請失業救濟人數為148萬人。受新冠肺炎疫情衝擊，該資料已連續14周超過100萬人，累計申請人數約4700萬人。
關於美國就業市場，當前值得注意的是失業率對美國反種族歧視浪潮的影響。美國不同種族的失業率並不相同，非洲裔與拉丁裔美國人的失業率明顯高於白人，他們受到經濟衰退的影響更大。
