硬脫歐悲觀情緒加強，英國GDP萎縮

8月9日，英鎊兌美元下行激烈，同時英國二季度GDP資料異常疲軟，目前英國脫歐前景迷茫，市場悲觀情緒加速蔓延，英鎊兌美元進一步下行。
稍早，歐洲時段最新的公佈的英國第二季度GDP季率初值意外萎縮0.2%，出現自2012年以來首次季度萎縮。在該國準備於10月31日離開歐盟之際，經濟前景黯淡。
英國國家統計局最新公佈的資料顯示，英國二季度GDP季率初值-0.2%，為2012年以來首次季度萎縮，預期0.0%，前值0.5%；英國二季度GDP年率初值1.2%，為2018年初以來的最低水準，預期1.4%，前值1.8%。
除了GDP資料之外，同時公佈的資料全線疲弱，資料顯示，英國6月製造業產出月率-0.2%，預期-0.1%，前值0.4%；英國6月工業產出月率-0.1%，預期-0.2%；英國二季度商業投資總值月率-0.5%，預期-0.3%，前值0.4%。
第二季度英國經濟遭遇了六年多以來的首次萎縮，給新任首相伯里斯·詹森帶來打擊。首相伯里斯-詹森領導的政府此前承諾無論是否達成協議都將在10月31日離開歐盟，以避免貿易中斷，2019年剩餘時間的前景尤其不確定。
恐慌情緒加劇，對於英鎊兌美元的後市前景，甚至有分析師指出，伴隨英國無協定脫歐風險的加大，英鎊與美元甚至可能跌至平價。
分析師預料在無協定脫歐的情況下英鎊兌美元會跌至與美元平價兌換的水準。Harrison表示，“英鎊目前已經跌了很多，但我仍然認為無協議脫歐會使其匯率出現進一步的劇烈震盪，並在極壞結果下下探平價水準，整個8月份英國與歐盟之間的這場膽小鬼博弈仍將繼續，而這種博弈可能會對英鎊不利。”
另外有調查顯示，英鎊最近跌勢尚未結束，因脫歐強硬派詹森上月接任首相後，英國無協議脫歐的可能性再次上升。在脫歐期限到來前，英鎊兌美元將進一步挫跌，預計將在1.17-1.20之間交投。
分析師我的核心觀點是會有某種延伸只是最可能的結果，但我對這方面的信心遠不如我年初，我認為到3月底只有5％-10％的機會獲得無交易脫歐，而現在我認為它接近50-50。市場應該更加擔心。”
