6月6日，現貨黃金價格持續上漲，升至數月以來的高位，連續七個交易日收漲，這與市場的避險氣氛密不可分。全球經濟增長正在放緩，而美國總統特朗普對全球各國都展開貿易協議的談判進程，更添市場對全球經濟的恐慌，而美聯儲的寬鬆信號也似乎為黃金價格帶來了強勢支撐。
週四美國方面公佈兩項數據，上周初請失業金人數和4月貿易帳，這兩項數據表現中規中矩，對金價影響有限。
具體數據，美國上周首次申請失業救濟人數為21.8萬人，經濟學家的預測範圍為21萬人至22.5萬人。4周移動均值為21.50萬人。5月25日當周，持續申領失業救濟人數增加2萬人至168.2萬人。
美國商務部週四公佈4月貿易帳數據顯示，美國4月貿易逆差為508億美元，預期507億美元，3月份貿易逆差500億美元修正為519億美元。
此前，本週三公佈的美國私營企業5月份新增就業人數創2010年以來的最低水準，暗示在部分經濟領域顯現疲軟跡象之際，勞動力市場或已開始回落，不過此後公佈的5月ISM非製造業指數表現卻十分搶眼。
週三美墨官員在華盛頓進行了會談，不過雙方沒有達成協議，週四特朗普表示，會談取得進展，但是“還差得遠”；雙方將繼續談判。
國際貨幣基金組織IMF警告稱，全球貿易緊張局勢可能會在2020年將全球經濟產出削減0.5％。
在美國聯邦儲備委員會主席鮑威爾和其他幾位美聯儲高層官員本周發表了似乎是為放鬆貨幣政策打開大門的講話之後，市場對美國的降息預期開始升溫。
有分析認為，鮑威爾本周的講話，講述他了如何看待經濟，以及對降息持開放態度，這似乎對金價構成了很好的支撐。市場目前的定價為年內兩次降息，而現在降息的可能性正在繼續增加。
但是，週四歐洲央行公佈了最新的利率決議，讓市場意外的是，歐洲央行並未如預期推出更多的寬鬆措施，而是上調了通脹和經濟增長預期，這緩和了本周以來市場對全球經濟放緩的恐慌情緒，對金價構成壓力。
