分析師支出，現在全球政治和經濟局勢不明，黃金成功的成為了眾多投資者的避風港，再度成為焦點。同時黃金股票的投資價值並不低。現在全球多個地方出於政治動盪中，黃金有對沖股市和作為避風港的作用。
分析師指出，政治與經濟不明朗驅使黃金重新成為投資者的焦點。黃金之所以吸引人，是因為它的價值並不與其他主要資產類別同步，除了購買金條，要投資黃金相關資產，金礦股的投資價值看來不俗。
他指出，現時金礦股市帳率為1.4倍，遠低於過去10年1.9倍的平均值，而金礦股估值也顯著低於原材料股和全球股市，後兩者的市帳率分別為1.5和2.0倍。這是由於金礦行業去年受到金價下跌的打擊，並復蘇緩慢。
自全球大型黃金企業巴理克黃金(Barrick Gold)去年9月以60億美元收購主營非洲業務的礦企Randgold Resources以來，金礦板塊的並購熱情上升，當金礦企業開始互相收購時，表明市場低估了它們的資產價值，即它們尚未開採的礦藏。
該行指出，現時全球多個地方正處於政治動盪之中，例如中美貿易關係、英國脫歐、義大利頻繁的政治混亂，在極端的股市環境中，黃金有對沖股市及作為避風港的作用。
