土耳其抨擊美國不動搖：美國對土耳其實施制裁引發兩國關係緊張，且導致金融市場出現動盪。但是，土耳其總統埃爾多安繼續猛烈抨擊美國，並且不支持土耳其央行進行加息。8月12日，土耳其總統埃爾多安發表了最新講話，卻並沒有為解決這些問題提供多少希望。他的這種行為排除了迅速結束土耳其危機的可能性，事件引致土耳其里拉匯率直線下跌。
油市延續走強：週一（8月13日）亞市盤中，美油延續上周五走強勢頭，日內聚焦OPEC原油市場月報。上周美油在66.14一線受到支撐並因IEA的言論而發起反彈。國際能源署(IEA)在上周五月報中稱，美國對伊朗重啟制裁將在今年晚些時候對原油市場產生重大影響，供應面可能大幅收緊，市場認為這將給油價提供一定支撐。
