貿易摩擦升級 非農表現一般
國際現貨黃金截止至2018年8月4日3:00報1216美元/盎司，最高價為1214.6美元/盎司，最低價為1204.6美元/盎司，金價週五出現探底拉升。現貨白銀報15.44美元/盎司，白銀同樣出現築底反彈。
中美貿易戰升級：7月11日，美國政府發佈了對從中國進口的約2000億美元商品加征10%關稅的措施。8月2日，美國貿易代表聲明稱擬將加徵稅率由10%提高至25%。針對美方上述措施，中方被迫採取反制措施。對原產於美國的5207個稅目約600億美元商品，加征25%、20%、10%、5%不等的關稅。
非農數據表現不佳：北京時間8月3日20:30，美國公佈7月份非農就業報告，新增就業崗位大幅回落，而失業率和薪資表現則中性偏積極，美聯儲加速升息前景依然受到抑制。雖然經濟數據整體依然樂觀，但比預期要差，在略微削弱了美元走強的態勢。
