很多人以前有做过黄金T+D或者黄金期货的经验，对于纸黄金投资，有人会问：“纸黄金交易会不会被强行平仓？”小编告诉大家，传统概念中的纸黄金交易，是没有纸黄金会强行平仓这一说的，因为纸黄金为单向的做多机制，且交易机制不是采用保证金杠杆式交易，所以不存在因为客户的纸黄金账户余额不足，而被交易商强行平仓。
会被强行平仓的黄金投资品种有黄金T+D、国际现货黄金、国际期货黄金等双向交易机制产品，客户选择双向机制交易，一般每手交易平仓后，都必须要支付一定的保证金，例如国际现货黄金这一投资品种，在大田贵金属交易平台上的每手交易需要1500美元，而每当客户的剩余资金不够补偿亏损额的情况下，交易商才会强行平仓。
例如现在纸黄金价格是220RMB，客户购买了1000可，则需要资金投入22万，相当于客户购买了1公斤的现货金条，只不过没有现货提取，换言之也就是没有现货交割流程，不论客户是亏是赚，都可以长线持有，如果纸黄金价格跌至0元，也就是客户账户里的22万变为0，除非提供纸黄金业务的银行网点设置了客户的盈利上限，才存在强行平仓。
纸黄金平仓一般有两种方式，一为获利平仓，二为止损平仓，获利平仓是指客户投资纸黄金后，在纸黄金的价格低点买入，然后在高价卖出，未来卖出价高于现有价，未来该时间点方可作出的平仓指令；止损平仓，当纸黄金未来某个时点的价格低于现有价格，由于纸黄金价格触及已设止损位，故投资者被迫割肉离场。
由于现在国际金价起伏不定，现货黄金行情不再是以往的单边走势，为了适应广大贵金属投资者的需求，现在中国工商银行首推可以做空的纸黄金交易机制，在2012年初开始推出，纸黄金交易双向账户的贵金属交易方式，包括纸黄金、纸白银、纸铂金等账户贵金属交易均可做多做空，也就是说涨跌都有机会赚钱，但这种新型的纸黄金做空方式并不是现货或期货交易般的杠杆式交易，客户在注资纸黄金双向账户以后，系统将自动为客户生成一个保证金账户，若个人保证金账户比例不足20%时，纸黄金交易会强行平仓。目前，双向账户贵金属交易分为人民币账户和美元账户，黄金人民币账户交易起点为10克，美元账户交易起点为0.1盎司。
在国际金价处于宽幅震荡的走势下，工行推出的纸黄金双向账户交易可以让投资者在纸黄金价格处于下跌的行情中获利，规避了一定的风险，实现了投资的灵活操作。
