纸黄金与实物黄金相比，有交割方便、不用储存，不用加工费、保管费等优点。纸黄金是一种理想的保本、增值的投资品种。实物黄金，因为有管理费、加工费等，价格要高于市场成交价格，另外在卖出时，还要有鉴定费等，在流通性方面存在一定的困难，实物黄金，适用于长期投资。
纸黄金更适合刚入门的投资新手，其交易比较方便，网上银行直接买卖。起点低。一般10克就可以交易了，折合人民币2000多元，而实物黄金起点起码在1万元以上。可利用短线差价，进行高抛低吸。所以中小投资者，还是玩纸黄金适宜。
纸黄金业务开户流程：
目前国内开通纸黄金业务的银行，有中国银行，工商银行，建设银行，兴业银行等多家银行。
具体交易流程如下：
1：开户：在中行需要开立一个储蓄账户,在建行需申办一张证券交易卡。
2：交易时间：中行为每周一至周五9时至16时,建行为每周一至周五10时至15时30分。
3：交易规则：在中行每次买进或卖出均不能低于10克,超出部分为1克地整数倍,在建行买进最低为10克,超出部分为1克地整数倍,卖出最低交易量为1克.两家银行均不收取手续费。
4：交易方式：目前在建行炒纸黄金只能通过柜台交易,在中行可以通过柜台、电话银行和网上银行投资中行地纸黄金。
纸黄金交易分为人民币账户黄金和美元账户黄金
人民币账户黄金：您可以直接用人民币完成对黄金（克）的即时交易、委托交易等各项投资。
美元账户黄金：只需要在您电子注册卡中具有活期多币种账户，且在该账户中存有美元即可，或者用工行的小额购汇购买美元。
交易方式：采用即时和委托两种方式进行交易。即时交易是指投资者可以直接按工商银行的报价进行实时成交，委托交易是指可以按指定价格进行委托挂单。委托交易包括获利委托、止损委托、双向委托，最长委托时间可达120小时
