伦敦银采取保证金双向交易，不但可以以小量资金操控大量的白银进行交易，也可以买涨买跌，其买跌模式相当于投资者以1%的资金向交易平台借100%的白银以现价卖出，待银价下跌到一定水平再买回来还给交易平台。也就说伦敦银可以做空，完全是因为保证金制度。

三、伦敦银在MT4中做空的具体操作
1、即时交易
打开“订单”对话框，选择“即时成交”的交易类型，填上“止损价”和“止盈价”，点击“卖”按钮，即可生成做空交易单。
2、挂单交易
打开“订单”对话框，选择“挂单交易”的交易类型，选择挂单“类型”，填写挂单“价格”，再填好“止损价”和“获利价”后点击“下单”按钮，就可生成挂单。
其中，挂单的做空方式分为“sell limit”和“sell stop”两种。
（1）Sell limit即卖出限价，用于目标价格高于市场报价。例如，使用Sell limit，若当前伦敦银的价格为17.45美元盎司，我们可以设置做空的价格为19.80（即高于当前价格）。
（2）Sell stop即卖出止损，用于目标价格低于市场报价，一般用于突破行情。例如，使用Sell stop，若当前伦敦银的价格为17.25美元/盎司，我们可以设置做空的价格为14.80（即低于当前价格）。
