所以，限价平台是指按客户预设交易单价位执行指令的交易平台，而非像市场上大多数的平台单位那样是按市场成交价结算交易单盈亏，一旦预设价位没有出现在市场成交价中，这个限价就是失效的，就是所谓的自动取消止盈止损，导致客户无法获取预期盈利或者扩大亏损。

由上述可知，限价平台由于按客户的预设单子点位受理进出场，因此能帮助客户留住区间盈利，以防跳空后进入反转行情而导致交易化赢为亏，另外也能控制亏损风险，令亏损空间在客户预设的合理范围之内。例如原来设定了20个点的止损，一旦触发大行情造成的报价断层，反向行情加剧，市价平台将取消原定止损价（限价），改为跳空结束后的第一个成交价作为最终止损价，例如跳空令亏损范围扩大为100个点，实际亏损值就放大了5倍，导致本金受损。
