这类止损方法在短线操作中常用，它可以帮助投资者在短线交易中提高收益率。具体操作方法是：当您的交易单出现亏损时，只要亏损额度还在您的承受范围内，您就可以继续持有，否则，就马上止损出场。
二、绝对金额亏损点
目前，国外的操盘手较多使用这种止损方法，其优点在于投资者可以做好资金管理。这种止损方法关键在于设立进场资金的最大亏损额度，一般是占用资金的5%—10%，也可是所占用资金的绝对金额。但是，这种止损方法需要投资者做大量的统计和分析工作，知道确定适合自己的最佳止损额度。
三、关键点位、重要支撑或压力突破位置
在实际操作中，仔细分析贵金属盘面就可以发现，在贵金属的各个市场中，盘面上经常会出现一些比较重要的点位，在这些点位上会显现较强的阻力或支撑作用，当贵金属价格触及这些点位，行情一般会形成反转态势或金价试探点位成功突破为趋势强烈的单边行情。因此，在这些点位被突破的位置是投资者常用的设止损方法。
重要的阻力或支撑位置有以下几种：
1、较长时间范围内的价格高点或低点。
如伦敦金市场中4月初出现的高位1225美元/盎司，自4月6日出现此价格高位以来，伦敦金价格一直在此价格下方，若未来的价格走势有上涨到1220-1225美元/盎司的范围内回落，投资者在做空的时候就可以在稍高于1225美元/盎司的位置设置止损，如1226、1227美元/盎司。
2、均线、布林带、趋势线、黄金分割等技术指标提供的位置。
如图，在K线图连续上探黄金分割0.382线1198美元/盎司不破并有回落趋势时可以考虑下空单，如A、B点，那么止损就可以设置在该点位上方2-3美元的位置，如1200、1201美元/盎司。
