在9月2日欧盘中段，伦敦金价格向下运行至1275美元/盎司以后，出现了明显的跳空行情，金价落脚点至1267美元/盎司250，而此时中国上海黄金T+D的价格变动仅为251-253元/克1279之间，253元/克换算成伦敦金价格的话则是1279.54美元/盎司，则要比当时的伦敦金价格高出120个点，这时候我们可以马上买入一手黄金t+d多单，同时卖出一手伦敦金空单，二者的差价越高，套利额就越大，待黄金t+d价格上升至253元/克时，就可以将其平仓，持有的另一张伦敦金空单若行情方向相同，则继续持有，若反转则把单子平掉，伦敦金空单的止盈点位设置在50个点以内，止损为30个点，我们设置止盈点位为30点，则伦敦金价格运行至1264美元/盎司时，交易单自动平仓，最终我们通过伦敦金和黄金T+D的套利操作，获得贵金属盈利为120+30点=150个点，即1500美元的可提现盈利金额，换算成人民币，则为1500*中间价（一般为1:6）=1500*6=9000元。
所以，当跳空行情出现时，我们可以通过观察同为贵金属现货品种在国内市场的价格走势表现，来确定贵金属交易的套利空间，因为无论是哪一种贵金属现货品种，都可以进行贵金属双向交易，这为投资者进行套利交易提供了便利，尽管最后二者的价格均回到平衡状态，但我们可以利用跳空这一特殊形态来捕捉有利的入市时机。
伦敦金套利交易的话，除了是同种交易产品的跨市场套利以外，还可以跨品种套利，如伦敦金和美元，伦敦金和原油期货等，例如伦敦金上涨的时候，我们就买入伦敦金，同时卖出美元，下跌时候则卖出伦敦金和买入美元，这需要投资者有较大的资金成本作为支撑，同时要观察与伦敦金行情密切相关的其他品种的盘面走势，这是伦敦金套利的基础。
