1、 准备阶段：按照波浪理论的概念，以8个波段为一个行情周期，其中5个为上涨波段，3个为下跌波段，我们可以根据K线组合的上升和下跌形态，把各K线的高点和低点连结，就形成了通道，通道形成的线段称作趋势线，当上升通道逐渐收窄时，意味着淡友反攻行情即将开始，我们就在通道收窄于一个大概的点位时，多单果断离场，此时可以反手做空，止损位置设在K线与上行趋势线的切点位置。
2、 形成阶段：淡友反攻的形成存在两种可能，一种是上涨行情的暂时回调，另一种的上涨行情反转为阶梯式下跌，第一种的话，我们可以进场做多，止损点设置出现阴线的收盘价位置，第二种的话，日内阴线将逐渐向下拉长，我们则进场做空，止损点设置在出现阴线的开盘价位置。所以在淡友反攻的形成阶段适合日内短线操作，这样可以通过日K线图观察阴线的开出长度，不宜隔日平仓。
3、 后市阶段：淡友反攻形成以后，后市分为受买盘所压的反弹向上和转变为乌云盖顶两种，第一种伦敦金交易适宜做多，止损位设在前一条阴线的开盘价下方附近，第二种伦敦金交易适宜做空，止损位设在当天阴线的开盘价附近。
