首先，整体的国际大环境的改变。我们知道从雷曼倒闭引起的危机以来，全球主要经济体的经济发展都受到经济危机的冲击，各主要经济体为了挽救本国经济，接二连三的出台巨额的宽松货币政策。严重超发的货币虽说挽救了全球经济于水火之中，但也造成了金融资产价格的大幅上涨。如今，随着全球主要经济体的经济逐步探底回升，特别是美国经济的持续回暖。
其次，潜在收益下跌、国际资金的流出。我们知道资本是流动的，我们也知道资本更是贪婪的、是无往不利的。从09年以来全球主要股指均出现见底回升的走势，截至今日多半已达到或超过危机前的水平，反观金银价格在11年年中创下记录新高后，近2、3年的走势持续萎靡不振，不仅限制了私人投资者的操作空间，也限制了大型机构的整体收益，大型机构为了获得更高的投资回报，势必将寻找更好的投资品种，从而撤出对国际贵金属的投资。
