伦敦金交易点差是指买入价和卖出价之间的价差，制定目的有如下两种：
第一种是对黄金做市商而言的。通常黄金做市商会向该市场的参与者报出买入价和卖出价，而这个买入价和卖出价与国际市场上的黄金价格是有区别的，与国际市场的金价差异就是点差。黄金做市商必须无条件的按照自己报出的买入价买入其他市场参与者要卖出的黄金，而必须以报出的卖出价把黄金卖给要在这个价格买入黄金的买家。
还有一种点差是针对经纪商而言的，经纪商收取交易佣金时不是按照固定数额收取而是按照交易数量来收取，比如每克１元。
