伦敦金以美元标价，以英制盎司为计量单位。一盎司等于31.1035克。最低交易量为1手/张/单。一手等于100盎司。约等于3.1公斤黄金。
保证金交易：
投资者只需交纳足额差价保证金，即可进行现货黄金交易。不需交付全额资金。例如：投资实物黄金或纸黄金3000克，需要资金至少50万元人民币，而交易同等数量的伦敦金，则只需人民币10万元就可开户。并且只需动用其中的1万元人民币，即可进行一手现货黄金——也就是100盎司黄金的交易。这对资金有限的中小投资者，无疑是一个难得的机会。
即时买卖：
只要价格在市，既可即时完成买卖交易。不存在是否有人接单问题。也就是说，只要市场上有价格，那么，投资者只要发出买、卖指令，交易即刻完成，投资者不愁买不到，也不愁卖不出。
双向交易：
既可以买涨，也可以买落。无论金价如何走势，投资人始终有获利的机会。黄金涨，做多；黄金跌，做空。由于现货黄金的这一特点，因此在现货黄金市场上不存在牛市或熊市。不论金价是大起还是大落，对投资者而言都是机会。黄金市场讲究的是行情。行情就是每日大盘的落差，即大盘最高价与最低价之间的差价。有差价就有行情，差价越大，行情越好。（而股票只有涨才赚，跌则亏）
可以预设限价单：
当市场价格尚未到达理想价位时，客户可以根据经验或专家提示预设限价单，做好止赢和止损，然后就可以高枕无忧，等待结果。
全日型交易：
现货黄金的交易时间是从每星期一早上8点至下午3:30是亚洲盘交易时间，下午3:30至晚上12:00是欧洲盘交易时间，晚上8:30至次日凌晨2:30为美洲盘交易时间，由于纽约是全世界最大的金融中心，资金量巨大，所以此时间段的黄金交易最为活跃。凌晨2:30至6:00是电子盘交易时段，此时间段交易较为清淡。
