中短线
可用于中短线周期中对走势形态判断的技术指标，有布林带、MACD、均线这几种，反映的单个或数个交易日内，或是以一周为单根K线时间单位的大致趋势，由此确认金价在相对日内较短时段而言，后市可能会出现行情拐点，例如大周期图中MACD双线为死叉形态，而小周期图中的MACD两线均低位反弹，若此后死叉开口放大，短期内金价可能只是小幅回升，做多仓位尽量放轻，若后市也尚无利好消息推动，应把握多单在某个价位的平仓时机，并逢高做空。
中线或长线类指标
适合在中长线的技术指标，分别有DMI、TRIX、CR指标等，对应的K线走势图通常是相比周线长的时间周期，分为月线、季线或年线这几种，观察的是半年至一年之内，金价的总体趋向，把握的相应反转高点或低点，对当前的金价形态有较大的指引作用，例如CR线进入超买，意味着金价到达上方某个关键压力线将无力突破，继而呈现阶段性回落。
