荷兰银行(ABN AMRO)在周四的报告中称，黄金市场信心正在改善。该行指出，本周黄金价格不断攀升，显然得益于美元的走软。荷兰银行称，昨日美国通胀报告的发布是黄金上涨的主要诱因，随后发布的美联储会议纪要也让金融市场有理由认为美联储加息会更晚到来；这导致美国国债收益率下跌，美联储加息预期降温，及美元走软，但利好黄金。美国劳工部周四(8月20日)公布的数据显示，美国8月15日当周初请失业金人数意外小幅上升，但是整体仍然与稳健的劳动力市场相符，足以使美联储(FED)处于在今年加息的轨道上。
