美元指数已经连续第四日收涨，周二收复97关口，一度触及97.07，隔夜公布的美国房市数据良好支撑美联储加息预期。美国商务部周二(8月18日)公布的调查显示，美国7月新屋开工升至近八年来最高水平，得益于单户型房屋开工激增。日内来自欧元区的基本面事件和数据都非常稀少，欧元的走势主要受到美元走势的带动，欧洲企业季报良好提振股市，打压欧元。另外市场对希腊政府稳定性的担忧也施压欧元。周二欧元走软的其中一方面因素在于当日欧洲企业季报大多表现良好，虽然中国股市承压走软，但欧洲股市摆脱颓势回升。
